Even though there are many common ways to live a healthy lifestyle, actually doing it seems different

for everyone. In other words we can say it differs from person to person. Regardless of what you choose

to do, living a healthy lifestyle is a key component to disease prevention, wellness, and longevity. 

In order to live a healthy life one has to eat healthy, be physically active, maintain a healthy weight and

manage the stress. Health is nothing but the outcome of an artful living. The arena of health is

unlimited. However, a healthy lifestyle isn’t just about healthy eating and exercise, it also about taking

care of the “whole you” – your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. And, that means

taking care of you from the inside out. 

How to live a healthy lifestyle? 

Even though there are many common ways to live a healthy lifestyle, actually doing it looks different for

everyone, and means something different from one person to the next. Regardless of what you choose

to do, living a healthy lifestyle is a key component to disease prevention, wellness, and longevity. 

Being mindful of your diet, physical activity and stress levels allows you to effectively balance all aspects

of your life and the “whole you”.  


Below are 10 important things you can do to live a healthy lifestyle: 

1 Detoxification of body by consuming 2-3 glasses of water in early morning for natural detoxification.

2 Time of food intake should be fixed as 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 7.30-8.30  p.m. respectively. In order to

provide time for digestion. Some buttermilk, fruits, salads and other healthy snacks should be consumed

between the meals. Always eat lighter in dinner followed by warm milk at bed time to keep the digestive

system healthy.  

3 Meditation should be taken into account for the spiritual well being keeping in view goal of life,

commitments, responsibility etc to keep inner peace and harmony with oneself, family and others.

4 Daily routine should be followed with a fixed time of sleeping and waking up early in the morning will

always keep you healthy.  

5. Eat three meals a day. It’s important that dinner should not be the largest meal. 

6 The bulk of food consumption should consist of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-

fat milk products. 

7. Choose lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts (with emphasis on beans and nuts). 

8 The  cholesterol  (including the breakdown of LDL and HDL), blood pressure, and blood sugar, has to

be checked on regular basis. As, for a healthy adult it should be: 

Blood pressure: less than 120/80 

Total cholesterol: less than 200 mg/dL 

Fasting blood glucose (or blood sugar): less than 100 mg/dL 

Each individual has different levels depending on your current medical situation and any lifelong

conditions one have. 

9 Exercise is the main idea behind the healthy living as it strengthens the body by pulling muscles and

providing good blood circulation to every part of body.  

10 Diet is one of the important point one needs to keep watch on. Following the strict diet routine will

certainly bring changes to the person’s daily well being. Skipping fast foods like snacks  

11 Sleeping hours needs to be checked as most adults need about 7-9 hours of sleep each night, though

everyone is different. If you feel sleepy while driving or doing other daily tasks, or if you need to rely

on caffeine to power you through the day, you may not be getting enough. 

12 Keep check on the stress level of your body as it is one of the main reason why people fall sick and

catch hold diseases which harm their health as well as immune system. 

Certainly if we follow these general routine, no doubt we would be able to keep diseases at bay.
